About the AA Arquitectos studio

AA-arquitectos is an architecture studio based in Funchal, on the island of Madeira, founded in 2016 by architects Adriana Henriques and André Ferreira.

The practice is primarily focused on residential projects and has recently expanded into the healthcare, retail, and hospitality sectors. Work spans a wide range of contexts, from urban to rural settings, and includes both new-build developments and interventions in existing structures.

Every project is deeply rooted in its location, with a strong understanding of and sensitivity to local characteristics and context. Each project is a distinct and unique response to a subjective equation. The practice is a quest for the geometrically harmonious synthesis of diverse objectives into a coherent whole.
